Assault Contact Family Violence case dropped before being filed in Heath Municipal Court
Client cited for Assault contact against his ex-wife. Corrigan interviewed client and it became clear that client had multiple witnesses who confirmed that the ex-wife assaulted him first. Corrigan advised that client should press his own charges by going to the police with his witness. Once the cross-filling occurred, Corrigan contacted the officer to confirm how long the parties had before the case would be filed in court. Before the deadline, Corrigan advised client to reach out to his ex-wife through a trusted friend to see if they could mutually dropped charges against each other. The ex-wife agreed and the police dropped both charges. The offense is eligible for immediate expunction.
